It’s summer, and what better way to cool off than hitting the pool. Dreamland Pool in Kenova is the largest in the region by far with more than 1.2 million gallons of water. First opened in 1925, it has been an oasis from the summer heat for 98 years! In the late 1930s, an open-air dance pavilion was added for nighttime entertainment and dancing. In its heyday Dreamland played host to some of the biggest bands in America including Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman, Ray Anthony, Gene Krupa, Bob Crosby and Louis Armstrong. Today the massive pool is owned and operated by the City of Kenova and continues to beckon kids of all ages.
